Anything that reminds of Christ, reminds us of our vocation to be like Him. We want to imitate His life and death. This is what the martyrs did. The Church flourishes on the blood of the martyrs. From the very beginning, Christians venerated the relics of the martyrs just as they would venerate everything that was related to Christ and His message of unconditional Love.
