Baptism
Dunking, pouring and sprinkling with water were always acceptable forms of Baptism. Christian Baptism must be done "In the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit." Christian Baptism assimilates us into Christ, and makes us adopted sons of God and heirs to His Kingdom. Through Baptism we die to sin and are buried with Christ and rise and are "reborn" to a new life in the Holy Spirit through Christ's Resurrection. The Holy Spirit cleanses us of all sin and makes us partakers in the very life of the Trinity. Circumcision was a precursor and symbol of Baptism as was the flood. Just as an adopted child must continue to be washed and nourished every day, so must we renew our Baptism with the sacraments of the eucharist and reconciliation.
